Creating Farmhouse Decor With Pallets

What can you do with an old pallet?

Oh my gosh, SO.MANY.THINGS! They are great for farmhouse and rustic decor styles.

Today I'm sharing some things I made with old pallets for my dining room.

I am working on my dining room since it's been pretty neglected lately.

I wanted to add some pretty décor since the dining room is open to the living room and kitchen.

I painted one wall with big fat stripes for my accent wall.

And then added a rustic plate rack which was seriously the easiest project ever, all I did was hang this skinny pallet up!

I added some white pitchers, plates, and platters and a little repurposed tray chalkboard.

To make the EAT sign I cut some pallet boards up to make each letter to the size I wanted. They are about 14" tall each and I joined the pieces together on the back with metal mending plates to form each letter.

I stained them with dark wood stain and then dry brushed them with aqua-colored paint.

The table runner is made by weaving upholstery webbing together and gluing the sides and ends.

I added some shutters on both sides of the door inside for a fun accent.

The curtains are made out of a king-size sheet. It had a ruffled edge so I just turned that down to create a valance.

And finally, I hung up an old window that I got at a garage sale for $10 to act as a room divider.

My dining room and living room are open to each other and I like that but I also like to be able to tell where the dining room begins and the living room ends!

To hang it I used cup hooks (two on the top of the window and two on the wall above) and some little silver chain pieces.
