DIY Layered Frame Collage

19 August
I've been collecting old picture frames to create a focal point on one of the walls of my bedroom for awhile and I finally have enough!

Layered frame collage

These are my picture frames I collected. I spray painted them with two different shades of white... flat white, and gloss antique white. It's hard to tell the difference in the pictures but there IS a subtle difference that makes the final arrangement that much more interesting!

I began by hanging the frames on the wall so that some overlapped others and smaller frames inside larger frames.

The final touch was this cute little scroll work wooden heart.

To layer the frames over the top of others I just used different lengths of nails. So regular length small nails for the frames that are hanging flat against the wall and a longer nail for the one that is layered over the top.

These pictures were taken as the sun was beginning to set and was shining through the window making my room look so warm and cozy! :o)

The room now has such a peaceful, restful feel which is how a bedroom should feel right?!

I just think it makes such a statement... so much MORE eye-catching and conversation-starting than a normal picture hanging on the wall!!

Here is my inspiration for this project.
