Trash to Treasure Nightstand Makeover

10 July
Remember I was helping my parent's with their rental that was trashed by the renter from hell last weekend?

Well, there was some furniture left behind when he moved out so I snagged some of it! This is one of those pieces, a cute little nightstand!

Nightstand Makeover

Ok... maybe it wasn't so cute before its makeover... I cleaned it all up... because... well if you read that post about the rental you'd know why!

It had a little bit of damage but nothing too bad. Here it is after the makeover.

I painted it grey with a free sample of paint I had from Lowe's and sprayed the knobs hot pink!

The pink knobs and pull may be a little jarring in most settings but I've been adding touches of pink to my bedroom so they are perfect! :o)

Then I decided to use some cute contact paper I found at Big Lots to line the drawers.

And for a little unexpected surprise...

I lined the outside of the drawers too!

What do you think?

  6. It's adorable! I love it...:) I am working on my new old credenza I bought a couple weeks ago to hold my TV in the new living room! I chalk painted it white and am going to distress it a bit and I am lining the inside of the doors with some chevron contact paper I have left over from another project. I can't wait to finish it and share it on the blog! Have a great weekend treasure hunting!

    1. Hi Krista, thanks for your sweet comment :o) I just used a free sample of Valspar paint from Lowe's. Chalk paint is nice too and there are lots of recipes to make your own online.
