Vintage Corner Shelf Makeover

03 July
This ugly little corner shelf got a much needed makeover recently. Wanna know a little secret? It's plastic!

Corner Shelf Makeover

I picked it up at a garage sale a few weeks ago. It had a $5 price tag on it and as I was looking at it someone came along and marked it down to $4! I still stood looking at it, turning it over, pushing on it to see how sturdy it was... and she marked it down again, this time to $3. SOLD!

Here is what it looked like before.

Whatever company made this little shelf did a great job making the plastic look like real wood!

I used some coral colored spray paint and gave it a quick makeover.

And of course a little distressing was inorder :o)

I put it on the landing of the stairs, I've been trying to find the perfect little piece for this space and I think this does the trick!

Let's take one more look at the before and after shall we?

  2. Love it Tania! have bought a few of those plastic wood look pieces over the years and they paint beautifully! I love that stuff. In fact, I just bought a piece yesterday to use as an entertainment center and can't wait to redo it! Have a Happy 4th of July! Oh...what brand is the coral spray paint...I love it!
