Treasure Trove Tuesday - This Week's Thrifting Finds

03 February
It's pretty slim pickins for Treasure Trove Tuesday this week! But I have a little something else to share at the end... don't get too excited though, it's not much :o]

thrifting finds

Yep... this is it this week!

I love this cute little doll house wall shelf!

And this little praying couple is cute!

 An owl lantern...
 Aztec looking vase...
 A cute vintage coffee mug...

This old candle holder is going to get a makeover and will be repurposed in my bedroom!

I think this little doll has such a pretty little face! She was made in Mexico and is paper mache.

 What a skinny minny!

Now, on to what else I wanted to share with you today. I have been working on recreating my 2nd Etsy shop and I'm putting together some "Instant Collections" of 1970's boho/gypsy/hippie decor for wall gallery displays to offer in the shop... now called "Little Boho Cottage".

Since each wall gallery instant collection will be different and I want to show them on the wall but I don't want to end up with hundred's of nail holes in my walls, I've been trying to come up with a sort of temporary wall that I could display them on for photographing. I think I finally figured it out!

I bought two louvered bi-fold doors recently from the Habitat store for $15.00 each. They were unfinished and I gave them a coat of off-white spray paint and then dry brushed over them.
And I just leaned them up against the wall in the spare bedroom. It get's pretty good light in here to take pictures.
I think this is going to work! I made some little hooks that slide right over the louvers with paper clips so now I can create endless arrangements and not put one single nail hole in my wall!

Here is an example of what I am thinking... this is the first instant collection I put together.
The collections will be a mix of the vintage goodies that I've shared over the last few Treasure Trove Tuesday posts (and anything else I find) and a few handmade items as well. I know you've been looking at some of the things I've been picking up lately and you're probably thinking I've lost my mind!
But just look how pretty it can be when grouped together like this. This one obviously is in a yellow color scheme. I added some pretty paper in the vintage gold frame on the bottom right. The brown frame above that got a piece of wire added to it and then a vintage rose identification card and a ginormous yellow chandelier crystal were clipped to the wire, and the yellow chevron arrow is handmade.

Here is the banner I made for my shop.

And you can check out the shop here: Little Boho Cottage. It's still a work in progress but I've been moving things from my other shop that fit better in this boho themed shop and adding the new things slowly but surely.

What do you think? Do you have an Etsy shop (or two?!) Leave a link in the comments if you do, I'd love to check it out!

  1. I think this well be a fun way to offer things. Lots of people like collections but don't have the time or ability to put them together themselves. So i think a pre-created collection is perfect!
    Good luck!

  2. Not a lot, but some sweet finds! I think your new shop idea is great! I have actually been thinking about collecting things for instant gallery walls or instant collections...think milk glass, apothecary jars, plate walls and such. That is if I ever get that stinkin' shop open...lol! I really want to make it a priority, but we have so many projects always going on. I always have stuff to do for school/work too. It is on my list to do before this year is over though.Do you print shipping labels from home? I bought the postal scale last year but haven't done much research on it yet. The shipping part is the part that overwhelms me. I know once I get into it and get the hang of it, it will be fine. It's just fear of the unknown! BTW...great idea with the shutters! I love it. Have a great Wednesday!

  3. I love the idea of a boho/hippy vibe shop. Great idea using the bifold doors for temporary art. the house would be wonderful to display doll tea sets.
