Living Room Updates

Sunday I spent the day relaxing... in my own way... by moving my living room around and picking up a new Craigslist table I found.

Living Room Updates

I switched my couch over to the opposite side of the room and moved in my round, jute rug from the dining room.

I created a little gallery wall above the couch.

I already had the round mirror, the long skinny deer picture on the right, the metal 'T', the two small pictures in the green and white frames, and the little wooden heart.

I found the cute little octagon shaped shelf with arrows inside at Hobby Lobby, the little owl inside is thrifted, and the raccoon clock on top is from Pick Your Plum! Some people may think it's a little juvenile... but I'm not decorating for them now am I? I love it!

If you've never heard of Pick Your Plum you really should check it out. It's a daily deal site and they have deals that range from clothing and jewelry, to children's clothes and toys, to home decor and they have SUCH good deals, I order from them often!

I picked up this vintage picture at one of my favorite little thrift stores. It was marked down to just $3.50 because it has a scratch. I updated the frame and then painted the quote on the picture. The quote really speaks to me too. That's how I feel with my business, if I don't take the adventure then I'll never know...

I moved the sofa table along the wall behind the couch. I put a string of lights inside my big yard sale glass jug for a fun little glow!

The blue suitcase is my new Crosley record player I found on Amazon. I can't wait to get some records to play! You can find it here: Crosley CR8005A-TU Cruiser Portable Turntable (Turquoise)

I bought this little credenza at the Habitat store awhile ago with the intention of painting it and using it for my TV. Until I get to that project I thought it looked pretty cute here just as it is!

I put all of my plants in the bay window.

I saw this picture on Pinterest and loved the bohemian vibe. I thought grouping all my plants together might create a similar feel. I plan to add more plants as time goes on.

I found this adorable little roly-poly Buddha at the thrift store. I just love him!

I have an old window turned chalkboard leaning on my wood stove.

This is my new Craigslist table and chairs. I only paid $35 for the set and I love it. I know it's not everyone's taste... in fact maybe not anyone's!! But again... it's my house so it's all about me!

I plan to recover the chairs in some fun fabric. I don't know why I love it so... I have said before that sometimes my fascination with certain things makes no sense...even to me! But for some reason this table just feels homey to me.

I put my "Take Adventures" poster inside the old screen that was hanging empty on the wall already and I added an old painted crate as a little shelf.

I found the little planter at Goodwill for .99 cents. I added some jute in the holes and hung it from one of the billions of hooks that are in my ceiling... I have no idea what these people before me had hanging all over the damn house but they are everywhere! I can count 9 of them just from my chair in the living room!

So, all in all, Sunday was a very relaxing day for me putzing around my house slowly creating my little boho paradise! :o)

  5. Hi Tania :) Commenting from Australia. I love your home and I love so much about your living dining area. Your gallery wall is great. I would like to borrow your idea of writing a quote over an old print. I also like your thrifted Budda. Super cute. Thanks for your inspiration.

    2. I had a feeling you were going to say that :) Gotta love Pinterest. I forgot to mention, Not so very long ago I wouldn't have liked your dining setting, after having grown up with similar styles, but now.......I love it!! I love mixing up different styles these days. Funny how our tastes change over the years :)

    3. Oh yes, I am addicted to Pinterest! I am the same way... my tastes have changed over the years and continue to change. I wouldn't have liked this dining set years ago either but now that my grandma's have passed I find myself liking things that remind me of them :o]
