Inexpensive Valentine's Day Decor Ideas

08 February
I love to add a little bit of decor to my house for almost all of the holidays and Valentine's Day is no exception!

But it doesn't have to be expensive and you don't have to have a lot of stuff.

I'm sharing a tour of my home decorated for Valentine's Day with the hope that I can inspire you with some fun and inexpensive ideas for your own Valentine's Day decor.

You can see how I decorated other years at the links below:

Idea #1

Reuse Christmas decor - look for pink, red, and white Christmas decor that you can use for Valentine's Day.

Here I've used a white tabletop tree. With the addition of a strand of twinkle lights, you have a sweet Valentine's Day tree!

I've also reused a pink Christmas Putz house and some Gurley Christmas tree candles in my decor.

Idea #2

DIY some of your decor - the pink heart ornaments I have on my tree are cut from double-sided scrapbook paper and hung from the branches with pink and red baker's twine and the white hearts were cut from leftover beadboard.

I made the puffy white yarn hearts at the base of the tree by following the DIY Yarn Heart tutorial from Cami at Tidbits.

Here's that little Putz house and Gurley tree candles. You can read the Gurley and Tavern Candles Collectibles Guide for more information about these sweet candles.

Idea #3

Shop at the Dollar Store, Target Dollar Spot, and thrift stores for inexpensive decor - the heart placemats are from the Target Dollar Spot.

The pink felt hearts are from the Dollar Store and I made little arrows from paper straws (also from the Dollar Store) and scrapbook paper.

The crochet hearts table scatter is from Etsy (also very inexpensive for a dozen or so).

I made a simple wreath from a thrifted straw wreath form and some yarn.

See How to Make Industrial Metal Hearts for a tutorial for the metal heart garland that is hanging from the hooks.

Idea #4

Shop your own house - I used little white pitchers, white dishes, a doily my grandma crocheted and a table runner I already had in my decor.

I made this little angel like a hundred years ago and I still love her just as much today, she makes me smile every time I see her cute crooked smile and furniture plug hair!! Eeek!

Love it all! Valentine's Day is a fun one to decorate for. The little angel is adorable even if she is a hundred years old!! She's aged well.
