Treasure Trove Tuesday - This Week's Thrifting Finds

14 March
Hello, hello, I have some treasures to share today for Treasure Trove Tuesday! I only had time this week for one thrift store trip so all of this was found at one place.

In case this is your first time joining us for TTT, this is where I share the treasures that I have found while shopping for vintage and antiques to stock my booth at the antique mall and my Etsy shops, Little Vintage Cottage and Little Boho Cottage. I share how much I paid for each item and my opinion of what the value is which just means how much I can resell it for!

thrifting finds

I thought this little trolley car Jim Beam liquor decanter was cute!

This one is a San Francisco souvenir and I understand (from the cashier at the thrift shop) that there are other little trolley cars from other cities.

Price $3.99, Value $18 - $22

Another sweet little creamer!

Marked "Ivory Porcelain by Sebring U.S.A., Pat. 2-24-1925".

Price $1.99, Value $6 - $8

At first I thought this little piano music box would be good for a doll house but I actually think it's a little big.

It's cute though!

Price $1.99, Value $12 - $14

These vanity mirrors are good sellers!

Price $3.99, Value $20 - $22

A sweet little embroidered picture... the detail on this is great, someone really did a nice job!

Price $1.99, Value $18 - $22

I found a bag of little crochet flowers!

I think they will be good for the artist's corner we are planning to open in my booth.

Price $1.99 for the whole bag (30 flowers), Value .50 cents each ($15)

I bundle of vintage party napkins which include Ziggy...

And these floral styles.

Price $1.99 for the bunch (7 unopened packages), Value $2 - $4 each

These accordion peg racks are also great sellers! This one is quite large.

Price $1.99, Value $16 - $18

And finally, this super cool retro yarn basket!

Price $2.99, Value $22 - $24

I'm excited for yard sale season to start up again, this year I'll be hunting for lots of paper ephemera and bits and bobs that I can use to stock the future artists corner in my space at the antique mall. I've been gathering up containers to display the different odds and ends in. So far I have an old drawer, small suitcase, an old store display rack among other things! I'm also excited to share my plan for a new display area for all of this!

Not a bad haul for one stop shopping! That little piano is adorable!

  2. Quite a few finds, I love the decanter and creamer (I can't help myself from bringing those creamers home!). I have collected many of those mirror/trays. I have them on my dresser and in the bathroom. They remind me of my mom, she used to have a bunch of them when I was a little girl.

Great finds...especially to find it all at one place. I hardly ever go thrift shopping anymore. I did run into a Goodwill yesterday while trying to kill time for my chiropractor appointment. All I bought were books and a shirt. I still have all my stuff I would like to sell...I honestly wish I could find someone to sell it all at once. Maybe one day! Anywho....have a wonderful week!

I'd love to know how you're packing and displaying ephemera. Besides postcards, I don't have a ton in my booth, but I have a TON that needs to get there. I need ideas!

  5. Hi Melissa, I hope I can have some posts coming up soon! I bought some resealable poly bags in 5x7 and 8x10 sizes on Amazon that I'm planning to fill with little "kits" of sorts with different papers, etc. I have bingo cards that I'm going to sell individually so I'll just put them in a cute container and write the price in pencil on the back. Other than that I haven't really figured out exactly what I'm going to do but stay tuned!!

I haven't totally ruled it out...I think about it now and then. But, if I could find someone who would buy it all, I would definitely just get rid of it. Who knows...lol! I just stay so busy I really don't want to deal with it all. Maybe someday!
