License Plate Yard Art

09 August
It's time  for what is quickly becoming my favorite post of the month!!

The second Wednesday of each month the Thrifty Chicks (a group of blogging buddies and I) join together and complete a challenge project and then share our results with you!

This month's challenge was license plates! If you missed last month's kitchen items challenge you can check it out here: What To Do With a Collection of Random Kitchen Do-Dads.

Recycled license plate projects!

Here are all the before shots from everyone for this fun project.
Here is my before pile... two license plates and an old table leg.

This project was so easy!

First, I cut the license plates like so, to create the wings for my dragonfly yard art.

I added some wood balls on the bottom and the top of the table leg to make it resemble a dragonfly more.

The wings were attached just by bending the ends of the license plates over and screwing them to the table leg on the sides. Like many of my projects, I used my Crop-A-Dile Punch to punch holes in the metal license plates.

And then I found some rusty wire in the garage and made some little antennae!

And this cute little big dragonfly is hanging out on my fence... brightening up my backyard!

What do you think?
