Christmas Decorating 2013 - The Tree
30 November
Yesterday I started decorating my house for Christmas and got my tree up!
The tree is always the first thing I put up for the season and the last thing I take down.
I love getting up early in the morning when it's still dark outside and having a cup of coffee by the light of the tree lights :o)
It was so nice to just open the closet door on my Creating a Holiday Storage Closet and grab exactly what I needed to decorate the tree!
Before I had to kill myself dragging out 6 large totes full of stuff from the tiny storage area under the stairs, unload them all, make a big mess in the process, only to discover the ornaments were in the LAST ONE! Grrr...
So let me show you how the tree turned out :o)
I made the "Merry Christmas" banners a couple of years ago with strips from an old player piano roll and my foam stamps.
It is decorated in neutrals for the most part. I'm saving the colorful ornaments for a different decorating project.
I love the little RV camper ornament! My parents got it for me last year. One of the lights from the tree sticks into the bottom of the ornament to light it up!
You can also see a close up of the piano roll banner here.
This is a vintage ornament that I found at a thrift store several years ago. It's got a little vignette inside with miniature trees and little plastic deer all nested inside a glittered 1/2 ball ornament.
I made these flower ornaments last year from recycled toilet paper tubes and vintage buttons.
All lit up at night...

It looks beautimus!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and I love that banner and your handmade ornaments. The little camper is too cute! I have my decortating about 90% done! I had to keep giving myself pep talks to get it done though. It is overwhelming to be surrounded by oodles of boxes and messes everywhere. But...I love it when it's all done and I can sit and enjoy looking at it. Have a wonderful week.
