I don't know too many people that decorate for small holidays like St. Patrick's Day... except for bloggers! Any excuse to create fun tablescapes, mantles, and vignettes right?!
Well, I'm no exception, I have just a few simple decorations for St. Patrick's Day.
I only decorated the dining room table... because it's such a small holiday that there's no reason to go overboard... well... and because I only have a few things!!
I started with the zebra print table runner that I made for {this} tablescape and a doily that my grandma made years ago.
I made the grungy "make-do" doll many moons ago and the wooden heart sucker holder is something my daughter made when she was little.
In case you're wondering what the heck a make-do doll is, this definition best sums it up:
"a doll that's made to look like it had no pattern, just cobbled together from rags and found objects"
That's exactly what this is to. I didn't have a pattern and I made it with things I already had in my craft stash! The face is needle sculpted, tea stained, and hand painted. Here's a better picture. I love her puckered up lips!!
My mom made this sweet little card for me a few years ago.
And the little green hat has a cute story behind it that I'll share in a minute.
I found these adorable little crochet clovers at Be Happy Crafts on Etsy! I am using them as table confetti!
I already had the green wreath and I found the sign and the little sparkly hat at Hobby Lobby.
I made the banner several years ago with old book pages and some scrapbook paper for the clover.
The story behind the little hat...
I took this sweet little boy to get a hair cut and when I picked him up they had given him a little scarf and St. Patrick's Day hat! 😂😂
He wasn't too happy about it... he looks a little embarrassed!!
