Trash-to-Treasure - Vintage Suitcase Makeover

29 September
I found this old suitcase at my own mom's yard sale, I can't believe she was getting rid of it!

As you can clearly see, it had seen better days :o(

On a side note, my mom wasn't the insane person who wrote the price right on it! :o)

I was kicking around the idea of decoupaging paper or fabric to it but instead I went the easy route and painted it with a sample pot I had of Benjamin Moore's "Storm" color.

And that's all I did! I think it made a world of difference!

It fits right in with my other vintage suitcases now :o)

Not only do stacks of vintage suitcases look cool, but they are great for storing things that you don't need to get to very often... if ever... like my daughter's PEZ dispenser collection!

The suitcases are stacked next to my entry table, you can see that makeover here: Cottage Style Entry Table Makeover.

And the tutorial for making the concrete balls on the table here: DIY Concrete Garden Spheres.

Do you have any vintage suitcases? If so, what do you use them for?
