Progress on the Rental

I am back with another update on the rental we've been working on. If you missed the first couple of posts you can check them out here:


Let's start in the living room...


The new carpet is installed! Yay!



The walls are all freshly painted.


A new piece of linoleum is in the front entrance.


There is a brand new ceiling fan to replace the broken one.


This is a little closet between the living room and kitchen. It has a coat of barn red paint and once the back panel is re-installed it will become a little office!


Now let's go upstairs to the loft area...


It also has all new carpet and paint.







There are these really cool ledges on either side. I think vintage suitcases, fans, etc. would look awesome up there!


The little room up here has been converted into an awesome walk-in closet!


Lots of built-in shelves for folded clothes and shoes.


And racks for hanging clothes.




Now let's go back downstairs and check out the kitchen.


Do you remember the lovely wall papered walls and weird box/soffit things? Here they are getting taped and textured.


The bead board paneling is in place and we have new hickory base cabinets.


The new air conditioner/heater has the pretty front on now (the floor has been patched to remove the burnt piece but I didn't get a picture of that yet).


There are new counter tops, here is my dad cutting out the hole for the kitchen sink.




My mom and I found a new dining room chandelier at the Habitat store.


Here is a reminder of what the kitchen looked like a few weeks ago.


Now let's check out the bedroom and bathroom.


 Of course it got the scouring of it's life and fresh paint.


A new wall vent/fan to hopefully prevent the black mold that was here before.


New green sheetrock stuff (whatever that stuff is called) for the shower...


A new shower surround.


The light fixture got removed, and cleaned up. The metal part that is mounted to the wall was beginning to rust from all the moisture and it was just filthy! But look at it now, I think this vintage fixture is cute! :o)


The kitchen countertop/sink needs replacing still. The new one is sitting in the box ready when we are! Here is the old one! Gross!


New carpet in the bedroom as well.



And I'm happy to say that the new renter loved the idea of leaving the chippy, crackly bedroom door as is! 😊

What's left...

Kitchen:

• Secure kitchen cabinets and countertops
• Install kitchen sink
• Install open shelving in the kitchen
• Paint the pantry doors with chalkboard paint
• Re-install the base molding and window trim
• Clean the kitchen floor
• Re-install the light switch and plug-in covers
• Paint the back door

Bedroom:

• Re-install closet doors

Bathroom:

• Install shower head
• Finish caulking and paint touch-ups
• Install sink/countertop
• Put vanity doors back on
• Re-install the light switch and plug-in covers

Living Room:

• Install door molding
• Re-install the light switch and plug-in covers

Closet/Office:

• Put the closet backing on
• Install Shelves

The Outside:

• Install new siding
• Paint

There may be more little things I've missed but you can see there is still some to do and these little things take longer sometimes than all the big work!
