Before and After - Vintage Picture Frame Redo
07 November
Today I'm sharing a little project I actually finished a couple of weeks ago but haven't had a chance to share yet!
I picked up this vintage picture frame before I moved at a thrift store for $6.99.
I liked the shape and originally I thought I would paint it but when I got ready to give it a makeover I decided I liked the wood. I've been wanting to incorporate some wood tones into my decor.
It's stamped "Maple" on the back so I'm assuming that's the kind of wood it is!
I used some wipe-on poly on the wood to bring out the richness of it and I painted the center section with chalkboard paint. I also used some rope and trimmed out around the inside of the frame because there was a pretty large gap between the frame and the wood backing.
It's hanging in the living room with a little fall themed poem that I wrote on it.

It turned out great. Not sure what would have been in it before, but it's perfect for a chalkboard!
