New Years Decorations - Welcome 2015!
28 December
Well how is everyone doing after all the Christmas rush and hype? Ours was pretty quiet which is fine by me. I haven't started taking down my Christmas decor just yet but I did recreate a little part of my Christmas decor for New Years.
This little bookcase sits right inside the front entrance to my house.
I added a stack of old books with my collection of white clocks, some trees, an old wooden star, a vintage New Years post card I printed from an image I found online, a crown, some antique glasses, and my vintage white tree.
And I did some new lettering on my chalkboard. I'm having so much fun trying my hand at all the fancy-smancy lettering I always see on Pinterest. =)
Here is my tree. I found the little pocket watch printables on The Graphics Fairy, I had the glittery black keys, and I made the little hat on top out of a cardboard cone, some vintage book pages, some tinsel trim glued around the bottom edge and at the point on top, and added a clock image to it!
I love these antique glasses... I guess you can say I'm "looking" forward to a fabulous 2015!!
Here is the vintage post card, isn't it sweet?!
That's it for me and New Years... I don't usually even decorate but I had a wild hair I guess. Do you decorate to celebrate the new year?

WHAT a CLEVER idea!!! I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't started UNdecorating!!! Seems like I just got it all UP!
I am intending to keep a 'Winter' theme for awhile and then red for Valentine's.
It will all go up slowly and lovingly - sooner or later!
NEXT year I hope to do a New Year theme in MY foyer like you did in YOURS!!!
I love your bookcase what a lovely idea. I have taken my Christmas decorations down already as it is my birthday tomorrow and I like to have everything clean and tidy for that.
ReplyDeleteOh! Happy birthday Lorna!
