Dollar Store Nutcracker Makeover
05 December
Ready for a quirky and fun upcycle project??
I gave some Dollar Store nutcrackers a whimsical makeover!
Dollar Store Nutcracker Makeover
Here is what they looked like before... not too cute... I've never been much of a nutcracker girl... they are just weird looking to me 😕
But I thought they could be cute... maybe... possibly...
So, I tore off their beards and hair and gave them each a couple of coats of paint. Now I have a nice base to start with!
With polka dots and pom-pom shoe bows!!
And new cute faces...
This little guy got a polka-dot hat with green rick-rack trim and red and white striped socks, and he is holding a little gold bell. I even put their teeth back in! 😜
And this guy got a large green pom-pom on top of his hat, red rick-rack trim, polka-dot socks, and he is holding a little Christmas tree!

Tania.....These are adorable. I love your makeover. Nutcrackers have always been one of my favorite decor items. I think I might have to run to the Dollar Store and get a couple before they are gone. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeletelol, they have always looked a bit creepy to me too!

ReplyDeleteHysterical - I love these! Yeah, they were a bit on the creepy side before but not any more! Love that big pom pom and the little ones on the feet.

My my...so MUCH cuter! Love the socks & green pom pom hat. Even just painted solid colors was an improvement. I've never been much of a nutcracker girl either.

I know that most people are on the fence about nutcrackers, but I've always loved seeing them. I think my only hesitation is in figuring out how to display them. I love how you made yours over and made them work in your holiday decor. So cute!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
