Do people ever give you things that you would rather not have?

Every now and then it happens to me, people know I like to repurpose things and so they will give me things... sometimes they are things I really don't want and would have never given a second look if I were on my own.

But I am of the belief that if someone wants to give me something and I turn it down they may never offer again and they may actually have something GOOD next time, you know?! 😁

So I almost always say yes and if I don't want it I just put it in my Goodwill pile, they feel good because they think they are helping, I feel good because I didn't have to hurt someone's feelings, and Goodwill feels good because they got something new on their shelves! It's a win-win I tell you!

Today's project was made with something that someone gave me that I really didn't want at first. In fact, I was planning to chuck it in the garbage! But I brought it in the house and set it on the counter and low and behold... a project came to me!

It was dirty, and the shoe was just hangin' on by a thread! The wood was flaky and dry and I don't think this "bronzed" baby shoe was really bronzed.

But for some reason I liked the shape of the wood pieces it was on, it had a gothic feel to me. Once I took the shoe off and sanded the wood to remove all the flaking finish I decided to try Howard's Feed and Wax on the bare wood.

Nice right?! I love how the wood is discolored here and there from age.
