DIY Holiday Advent Calendar
20 November
Welcome back to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop! This is actually Day 5 and today we are sharing advent calendars.
As a side note, I decided not to participate in all 12 days this year. I chose to participate in the days that are related to what you and I like most... DIY projects and home decor mostly! But you can always see the other days on some of the other blogs. There will be links to all the other blogs at the end of this post!
And don't forget to enter the awesome giveaway at the end!

DIY Holiday Advent Calendar
This is the 5th annual 12 Days of Holiday Ideas event, hosted by Shirley of Intelligent Domestications and Erlene of My Pinterventures. Between Nov. 11th and December 6th there will be hundreds of new ideas shared by over 55 Co-host bloggers!
Go here to see our kick-off collection of Holiday ideas as well as all of this year's talented participating DIY and Foodie Blogs. Download this year's November and December calendars with all of the topics and dates so you can make plans to watch for ideas!
We are hosting a BIG GIVEAWAY from our Sponsors this year! Be sure to scroll all the way down for more information and to enter to win!
Thank you to BurlapFabric.com for partnering with us to bring you this post! Financial compensation was not received for this post, a sample product was gifted. Ideas and opinions expressed here are my own.
I used little muslin drawstring bags from Burlap Fabric to make my advent calendar.
And some rubber stamps to stamp some designs on the bags.
I printed some numbers in a font I liked to number the bags.
And I used a square punch to cut them out. (NOTE: make sure to leave plenty of room between the numbers when you print them! I had to print them twice because I didn't have enough space around all of them to cut them out nicely).
I punched a little hole with a star-shaped punch to hang them on the bags and attached them to the bags with little black safety pins.
Next, I had to find a way to display the bags. I had this mirror out in the garage and I decided to use it to display the Advent bags.
I used some white cotton string and thumbtacks to add strings across the front of the mirror.
I just tacked the ends of the string onto the back of the mirror on either side.
The bags are all hung on the string.
And each little bag gets a small gift.
