Boho Garden Tablescape
19 May
The weather here hasn't been all that great just yet, it's been a little windy and rainy. How is it where you are?
I'm ready for summer! I can feel it, it's close!
Today I'm sharing my simple boho garden tablescape for my dining room table to help usher in the nicer weather! 😀
I have been collecting vintage straw trivets for a couple years now. Thank you so much to my readers who sent me some!

I have been collecting vintage straw trivets for a couple years now. Thank you so much to my readers who sent me some!
I've actually had enough to make this project for a while now... just call me Polly Procrastinator! 😉
They are different thicknesses so I separated them out into stacks with similar thicknesses.
To make your own, first lay them out on the floor until you find a design you like. This is the design I settled on.
I used natural raffia to tie the trivets together. I found this at the Dollar Store but it's been a while so I'm not sure if they still have it.
Use a large needle with a big eye and thread a strand of the raffia on it to make it easier to get the raffia through the parts of the trivets.
Just wrap the raffia around the trivets at each area that they touch and tie a knot on the backside.
This is what they will look like from the front.
Here I have several of them attached together.
Keep going until you have all the areas where the trivets touch attached together with raffia.
All done!!!
I love it!! 😍
Now to create a boho garden angel! I found this head planter at Fred Meyer and I thought she was so pretty!
I wanted to dress her up a little bit. I thought the part where you would put a plant was kind of small for a real plant, it would dry out too quickly and it would be hard to water anyway since it's at an angle with the tilt of her head.
So, I decided to use faux plants! I found these at Walmart.
And these monstera leaves are also from Walmart!
First, fill the planter portion with styrofoam. I used some that I saved from a piece of furniture I ordered once.
I had a little baggie of moss that was leftover from a terrarium kit, it was perfect to cover the styrofoam.
Drizzle some glue over the styrofoam.
And add the moss.
This string of pearls pick is also from Walmart! Dang Wallyworld... you're really stepping up your game! 😏
Push it into the styrofoam off to the side.
I love this blue pick!
Add it next toward the front, but still off to the side a little bit.
Then the pink one next to that.
And the green behind that.
And finally, fill in the last little hole with a faux hen and chick succulent pick.
The monstera leaves are going to become angel wings... because no garden angel is complete without wings!
Use a strand of the raffia to wrap the ends and then just hot glue them onto the back of the angel.
She's done! What should her name be?
She is sitting on the new table runner.
I don't know if you noticed the letterboard, I added a new quote. There are so many things I love to do and one of them is creating fun DIY home decor!
I picked up this vintage sign when the thrift stores were still open. I thought it was perfect for this tablescape.
