Laundry Room Makeover - The Details
16 May
I know you've been waiting patiently for the second part of the laundry room makeover and today's the day!
If you missed the first part of the makeover and didn't know you were waiting patiently 😆, then go check that post out first! Laundry Room Makeover - Walls and Cabinets
Today is all about the decor and final details!
I found these organizing bins for my cupboards.
It's on a shelf along with a jar of wool dryer balls and my mom's vintage cookie jar with dryer sheets in it.
It was an amazon find. The dogs walk through here a lot because the doggy door is in here so the rug needed to be something I could easily wash.
Here is my old one. It doesn't look too bad in this picture but it had some stains and I was just tired of it, I've had it for about 10 years.
I put all my stuff back on the pegboard. The pegboard hides the ugly electrical panel, you can see how I made it here: Laundry Room Redo - Hiding the Electrical Panel & Hot Water Heater.
I made the laundry hamper liner the last time I made over this room, all I did this time was switch out the yellow tie for a black velvet one.
I had this little magnetic planter, it used to be my daughters. I made something with it!
First I spray painted it white.
And then I made a little face with Sharpie markers and put a faux air plant in it!!
Since it's magnetic it is now on the side of the hot water heater.
This is a picture of my daughter when she was younger. She is actually serving a purpose...
... hiding the plug-in!!
I added a shelf to the bottom of this washboard several years ago.
I hung up my vintage laundry hanger collection on this wall opposite the washer/dryer under my new sign! I will show you what that sign is made from soon, you'll be surprised! 😉
And I have a small collection of paper covered wire hangers too! I got these at an estate sale, I thought they were cool but the people having the sale looked at me a little weird when I came to pay for just the hangers... no clothes.
The deadbolt on the back door is double keyed, meaning you unlock it with a key on both sides... weird. I leave the key in it all the time (inside not outside!) so I made a little tassel for it!
Here's that little shelf I added above the drying rack.
I put my whisk broom collection in a wire bin.
This is the upcycled gun cabinet I mentioned in the last post. I made this a long time ago and I don't have a blog post for it but I just removed the curved wood gun support pieces and added shelves!
I have the boho planters I made on top - Vintage Aluminum Camping Gear Upcycled to Pretty Boho Planters along with my little cleaning fairy 😊
Aren't you glad we don't have to do laundry like this?! Whenever I'm feeling grumpy about doing laundry I just look at her and my attitude changes a little bit!!
I have two dogs so I always need lint rollers handy!!

I will link to my sources at the bottom of the post.
You remember my stack of goodies I bought for this room? It's not that much really because it's a small room and I already had lots of decor that I love. But a little mini Amazon and Target shopping spree was in order 😏
I needed something wide and not very tall to fit my cupboards and these are perfect!
They are from storageworks and they come in a pack of three.
Here they are in my cupboards. I used them for rags, blankets, washer parts, and manuals, etc. I love the rope handles!
I already had two of these grey fabric bins for things like bleach, detergent, fabric softener, and stain removers.
I found this little boho basket at Target. It's from the Opal House line and it has a little plastic bowl inside. I'm using it for things you find in pockets when you're getting ready to do the laundry!

I got a new rug.
It was an amazon find. The dogs walk through here a lot because the doggy door is in here so the rug needed to be something I could easily wash.
And I also got a new ironing board cover!
