Repurposed Ceramic Hand Figurine
It's day two in the 7 Days of Thrift Shop Flips series!
And can you believe it? I forgot to take a before picture of my project 😖 I am so bad at that, I get the vision going in my head and forget about pictures!
For today's project, I'm using a ceramic hand figurine that I got for $2.99 and turning it into a cool accent light!

I loved the details on this ceramic hand. It has ruffles around the wrist and pretty roses on the sleeve and on one side.
It was white when I found it, but like I said, I forgot to take a picture and I can't find anything like it online.
I started the makeover by spray painting it black. Then I found a square wood plaque in my wood stash. You can see that I got this for .25 cents. I've had it for years but I think it came from a yard sale.
Once dry, I flipped it over and added a sawtooth picture hanger to the back and then glued the hand to the plaque using E-6000 glue and let it dry overnight.
I also had a tiny clip-on lampshade that I found at the thrift store for just $1. I opened up the wire and put it around the cord, then crimped it back down with pliers so the cord won't come out.
Be sure to come back tomorrow to see the next project. I'm using these supplies!

DeleteSuch a fun lamp project Tania! You find so many cool hand collectibles. I never seem to see them at my thrift stores here. I'll keep looking though.
ReplyDeleteI have a "thing" for hands for some reason so maybe I'm just more drawn to them. Keep looking, I'm sure you'll find one!
