Vintage Style Craft Room Makeover

08 December

If you've been following LVC for a long time, you have seen my craft room before, and you probably know that I like to rearrange and reorganize occasionally.

Well, I've rearranged, reorganized, and redecorated again and I'm sharing an updated tour!

I have a few before pictures to share, and the finished room tour is in the video below.

You can see the last tour HERE... before it became the mess that I'm showing below! 😂

I ran out of places to put things that I kept bringing home, so I just ended up stacking stuff around the room which made it really hard to work.

I decided I had too many furniture pieces that weren't providing adequate storage.

I hardly had any floor space to walk around!

I moved everything off the west wall of the room by moving everything to the other side, making an even bigger mess for a while, so I could install shelves on the wall.

I bought this wall-hung shelving system at Home Depot so that I could take advantage of the entire wall.

I also extended them under the window although that's not shown here.

Even though I ended up putting stuff on the floor under the bottom shelf, it still feels like there is more room.

I rearranged all the furniture and some of the storage containers too.

This definitely is not the room for you if you like minimalism, this room is the poster child for maximalism! 😁

I hung a disco ball in the window and every afternoon, it's a beautiful, show of sunshine and reflected spots of light all around!

Be sure to watch the video to see the whole room!

  2. Great tour, Tania. I love how you've used vintage pieces to organize all of your goodies!

  3. I have a room like you have and it gets piled up sometimes. I can get it cleaned up I also have bookshelves full of books. I have no where else to put them. They are plant books that I like to go when I have a question. My room is 10ftx11ft. I like to see what you do from time to time on changing your room.

  4. I envy your craft room space! I craft in the kitchen of my cottage. It's a bright and sweet space, but it'd be lovely to have a giant area that I didn't have to clean up every time we ate dinner! Haha!!

    1. I get it Kim! I have an article on my blog called How to Make Space for a Craft Studio When You Don't Have Any Space. Maybe there's an idea that you haven't thought of! Here's a link to the article: https://www.littlevintagecottage.com/2017/08/how-to-make-space-for-craft-stuido-when.html

  5. It looks good. I like that you don't have the long counter piece in the middle of the room. Seems a lot more spacious. I used to have those kind of shelves in various places in the house. It's handy that they're re-positionable for different sized items.
