Recycled Crafts for Easter
12 March
We recycle at our house and I'm always looking at the things we throw in the bin with my crafty eye.
There are so many things you can do with empty jars and boxes so I thought I'd see if I could come up with some Easter decorations with recycled items.

I went through my stash of crafty things to see what I could use and found a bag of colorful vintage Styrofoam Easter egg shapes that I've had for some time, I found them at an estate sale.
Someone had shaved off the top so they had a flat area and stuck some flowers in them. I'm not sure exactly what they had in mind but my original thought was to pull out the flowers and use them and discard the eggs.
But when I started to do that, all of a sudden I saw little wheeled Easter egg carts!
I rummaged around my stash some more and gathered up some more things to use. I've linked to some similar items below if you'd like to create some of your own.

Supplies Needed to Make Your Own:
Get creative! Some ideas:
- vintage buttons for wheels and rear bumpers on the carts!
- vintage candle holders in the shape of a little yellow chick inside the cart
- vintage candle holders in the shape of flowers for tailpipes
- fuzzy Easter chicks and ceramic blue birds to pull the carts!
This one is created on a recycled baby food jar and a CD!
For this chick and cart, I used a wooden plaque. I painted the sides and covered the top with pretty paper.
Inside each cart, along with the yellow chick are vintage millinery flowers (actually the flowers that someone had originally stuck in the eggs!), crepe paper, and pink spun cotton mushrooms!
For this little cart, I used a soap box for the stand... so it smells pretty too 😊
I found a pink pipe cleaner spiral in my stash and added that to the rear end of this one!
I hope you enjoyed this post and got some inspiration for using recycled items in your crafts!
