Treasure Trove Tuesday - This Week's Thrifting Finds

First I wanted to say hello to all my new newsletter subscribers! I'm so glad you signed up, I hope you'll enjoy the blog! Today is Treasure Trove Tuesday here on Little Vintage Cottage. I share my treasures that I have found over the previous weekend's treasure hunting trips. Some of the things I find are for myself but the rest is for my Etsy shops:
I have a confession to make though... I am keeping almost all of this! ;o)
I loved this vintage cardboard fruit and vegetable carrier, I'm going to use it on my kitchen counter to hold my fresh fruit... novel concept don't you think?! It was $9.50 at a local antique show in the park.
I am adding this little bubble glass floral arrangement to my collection... well actually I only had two before this one so NOW I have a collection! It was $3.00 at the same antique show.
These vintage shelves are for the shop (Little Vintage Cottage). I loved the cute little blue ones the best, the larger black shelf will get a makeover too!
The cutting board is for my collection. I don't have a long skinny one like this. It was .50 cents from a garage sale.
I picked up this bowling ball for .50 cents. It will be getting a fun makeover for some garden art. I've already started so I'll be showing that project reveal soon!
I picked up this Family Handyman (or should I say Handywoman) book to have as a reference for some projects I may be tackling in the future. It was a whole .25 cents!
If you saw my feature spot on Susan's Must Love Junk blog then you may know about my future project already ;o)
The book has some great how-tos like replacing a kitchen faucet...
Installing wood flooring...
And installing a ceiling fan... all things a savvy DIYer might need!
I thought this hanger of vintage fabric samples was cool, I can see pillows made from these cool swatches!!
And last I got this galvanized metal bucket. It's not to cute as it is now but I thought I'd show you what I did to another similar bucket!
I used a very simple method to help my bucket oxidize and rust... FAST!!
It's vinegar! I just put some in a spray bottle and sprayed my bucket several times. You probably won't notice anything happening right away but by the next day is should start looking like this! I have also heard of people putting some vinegar in the sink and just laying the bucket in it, rotating every 10 minutes or so.
I did my bucket last year and this year I noticed that it has started to rust! I love that!

Love the cutting board..I have thought about starting a collection but haven;t...yet! The little shelves are so cute...never seen any like them. You got some great deals. Looking forward to seeing the bowling ball. I've seen some cute things done with them. Have a great one!

Great finds Tania. I remember when I was a little girl my mom us to have little metal shelves just like the ones you found. I can even remember what she had displayed on one of them. It was a porcelain cat that now belongs to my eldest sister...the cat lover :-) Great memories of a sweet time...Thanks for sharing.
