My Daughter's Apartment Tour

10 August
Awhile back I showed you some pictures of my daughter's very first place on her own. You can see that post here: My Daughter's New Apartment.

Apartment Tour

I told you that I'd be back soon with pictures of her apartment after she got all settled... well that took longer than expected but I'm finally back to show you! Now I must warn you... she has very eclectic taste... kind of Mid-century modern, rock and roll, 50's movie star style!

Here is the front porch.

She doesn't have a back balcony so this is the only outdoor seating area. She has a couple of mid-century chairs and these cute little plastic lady bugs that we picked up at an estate sale a few weeks ago.

Step inside and we are in the living room.

Come on in!

Lots of James Dean and Twiggy for her gallery wall.

She fell in love with this bright orange chair at Goodwill so I bought it for her and kept it at my house until she had room for it. We just tucked a tribal blanket around the seat cushion for a little added interest.

My mom and I found this awesome shell plant holder for her at a garage sale a few years back.

She has a small little love seat and a vintage typing stand next to it.

A fun macrame plant holder hangs in the corner near the front door. I bought her the plant for her birthday.

On this wall we hung up a large map she bought at the Farm Chicks show a couple years ago. And she has had this shaggy blue chair since she was young. We found it at a garage sale... we have affectionately nick-named it the Austin Powers chair!

This is how we've decorated the top of the big built-in pantry/coat closet. We didn't buy anything new, just used what she had.

Here is her fun remote holder... it's a melted record. The rock table it is sitting on was my grandmother's, it is serving as her coffee table.

And this is Sprinkles :o)

Now lets head into the dining room and kitchen.

My dad won the Corvette pub table and chairs several years ago.

She found this cow display stand next to the garbage can at a local car wash. We used it to display her rainbow coffee mug collection and her vintage dish towels. The vintage hair dryer chair is not hers, she is holding onto it for a friend while he moves. It works though!!

Here's the kitchen. I just love that big window!

The painting above the table was mine... I got tired of it!

This vintage, lacy curtain panel is also mine but I have no place to use it and it aallmoooost fits that big kitchen window!

There is a towel bar (like you would have in a bathroom) on the kitchen wall so we hung up some of her vintage tea towels and slipped napkin rings onto two of them!

Next up... the bedroom and bathroom!

This skeleton heart painting hangs over her bead.

Marilyn and Johnny Depp.

She found this cute little clock at an estate sale.

And we hung up a little shelf for her pretties! :o)

Good ol' Marilyn looks on as my daughter gets ready every day :o)

That's it, I hope you enjoyed the tour :o)

  1. Such a fun place and Sprinkles is the cutest! That cow rack is too cool! Looks like she shares her mother's love of vintage...:) My daughter likes vintage, but mainly desk accessories and travel themed stuff. I just got home yesterday from visiting and checking out her new place. Have a great week!
