Before and After - Side Table Makeovers

19 May
I have some little side table makeovers to share with you today but before we get into that I wanted to say thank you to everyone who commented (some on the blog, some off) on my post on Friday about doubting myself and my decorating decisions. It gave me all kinds of warm fuzzies to know that:
1) I'm not the only one out there who has felt this way before
2) to know that others appreciate my decorating style and find it similar in one way or another to their own so thank you so much for that :o)

And I'm feeling much better about things once again too!

So on to the makeovers!

Side Table Makeovers

You've all probably seen these demure little half moon side tables before. I think my mom had one when I was growing up and I've had one before too.

I picked this one up from Craigslist (I almost forgot to take a before picture as you can see by the smidgen of paint on the front leg!) It was very wobbly so after re-gluing all the joints it's as good as new!

I painted it with some Waverly chalk paint I found at Walmart.

Then I used one of my new stencils I got from {Pick Your Plum}.

The stencil is reusable and self-adhesive so it worked really well for this little table!

Next up is this adorable little side table...

My mom had this sitting outside on her porch and I commented one day that if she ever wanted to get rid of it I'd take it! So, that day came! Thanks mom!

It was very chippy and the paint was literally falling off of it. I decided to do a fun paint and paper treatment on it.

The beautiful paper is from {Rifle Paper Company} and printed in the U.S.A. Woot! I used it to decoupage the sides and ends of this cute little table.

I picked this paint color because it matched the roses in the paper perfectly!

What do you think? Do you like it?

I also have a little bonus project to show you...

I have purchased several pretty little hankies on my thrifting adventures and decided to do something with them!

I created this little no-sew table runner with some seam binding tape and my trusty iron... which only gets any action when it's taken out for a craft project!

It was so fast and easy! I think it's pretty.

So that's it for today... thanks again for being my online bloggy friends! I appreciate you!

  1. Both tables are quite lovely, but my favorite is the pink one. The paper you used made it fresh and pretty - just like spring. However I am loving stencils right now so the other table is a very close second.

  4. i love all three of these projects! The tables are both so pretty. I can't pick a favorite! I can see the second one on a pretty porch though! I will have to remember it when I get my porch built. The hankie runer is so sweet. I love the patterns and colors in these old hankies. Hope you're having a wonderful week! PS...I never did get stencils ordered...now I regret it! Oh well, maybe they'll have them again soon!

    1. I'm so glad you found my blog and decided to come by for a visit! I find the old, pretty hankies quite often. They aren't something I use so I decided to create the table runner with them to give them a new life!
