Thrift It, Gift It, Facelift It!

21 July
I thought it would be fun for some of my blogger friends and I to do a little thrift makeover challenge and also a way to make some new blogging friends so I came up with Thrift It, Gift It, Facelift it and invited a few people to play along!

thrift swapping challenge

Here's how it's going to go down...

I assigned everyone who signed up to play along a "gift it" partner. Then we got to go thrift shopping... (no arm twisting there!) with a $10 budget and purchase some things to send to our partner.

Mail your items and when each person receives their package of thrifted goodies they'll share what they received. Then we have about a month to recreate our items into something new! Sounds like fun doesn't it?

I received my package from {Cecilia over at The B Farm}.

She packed everything up in this box... the box will be easy enough to makeover but wait till you see what she packed inside!

A pretty scarf which I think I have an idea for... some heart shaped wire rings and hangers... a gold double picture frame... and some pretty little pearls and rhinestones!

Here's a close up of the heart themed wire pieces... hmmm... I have an idea brewing for the two silver one's on the right...

But so far I'm struggling with the ones on the left... any suggestions?

Here's some of the packaging... I definitely WON'T be making them look like that!

Here's a close up of the double picture frame.

Hop over to see what the other ladies got:

  1. Wow, you have some interesting things to work with! That scarf is really pretty! Hmm, the heart wire thingies on the left could be used to hold photos or old postcards with a clothespin...if that bike is a card or photo, that could be one you use.
I can't wait to get my box...this is all so fun! :)

  5. What a fun idea! I love what you received in the box. You could make a scroll art piece using burlap in those hangers on the left?
Just found your blog today by reading Adirondack Girl at Heart's blog post about you. Such fun! I'd love it if you joined in with my "Let's Talk Vintage!" link party! Enjoy your week, Jill
