Trestle Table Makeover

trestle table makeover

I originally purchased this vintage trestle table from a local 2nd hand store for my dining room but it's just too big for my small dining room.

Of course I had planned to give it a much needed makeover but once I decided it was just too big it went out onto the back patio as is.

But it was too hard to keep clean out there.

So into the garage it went and there it sat through the winter.

Now that the weather is finally nice enough to start some furniture projects I decided to get this one done to make room for other stuff in my garage.

I sanded it down and then gave it a coat of KILZ 2 1-gal. Latex Interior/Exterior Primer and then 2 coats of "Cake Batter" white!

A little distressing for that shabby farmhouse feel...

A coat of protective Poly sealer...

And it's finished!

My mom and I took it down to my space at the antique mall (I'll show updated pictures of my space soon!)

It looks so much better than it did... I wish it fit in my dining room!

I think it would be super cute to use a bench on one side and a couple of mis-matched chairs on the other side.

What do you think?
