The Farm Chicks Show 2016

05 June
Yippee! One of my favorite times of year happened this weekend... The Farm Chicks Show!! My mom and I go every year.

I haven't taken pictures at the show for a few years so I decided it was time again :o) I hope you enjoy them!

The Farm Chicks Show 2016

These adorable little snowmen grabbed our attention right away and we each bought one!

They are made with old glass bottles and different wood shapes for their adorable little snowmen heads! Inside each bottle are a jumble of pretty little baubles (beads, buttons, etc.)

They had little embellishments outside too and fun little hats made from salt shaker caps and other doo-dads. And then to top them all off and make them look more like snowmen they were glittered all over!

You should see the displays that some of the vendors come up with... like this!!

And this! That hammock makes a perfect canopy! I love it... I almost want to do this in my house!

There was a vintage trailer... sorry about all the people... this show is so crowded you can hardly even move at times... but it's worth it to me!

You can't see it very well but look at the lights under the baskets and flowers on this old ladder. One is a vintage lighted bedspring (on the right) and the other is a bicycle wheel (on the left).

I took a picture of this because I want to create something like it with a mirror I have that was made to look like a window.

Here is my mom... I made her pose... she doesn't like having her picture taken... it's a cute picture though!

Here's another fun vendor display. The theme of the show this year was County Fair so this striped tent with cotton candy hanging from it was appropriate!

This is a pillow made from one of those old wall tapestries. I thought it was so cool! I might have to try making one! There was a bench upholstered with some too but there were two people sitting in it so I couldn't get a picture.

We saw someone walking out with these chairs a little bit later.

This picture is for my mom, she has a collection of little pigs and we decided that one of hers needs a tutu!!

Imagine how long it must have taken to make these angel wings! They are made from rolled music sheet pages.

And this picture is to prove to my friend that I am NOT crazy for keeping some old corrugated metal pieces I have! They were selling squares of them for $14.50 per panel.

So, I have about $116 worth of this stuff leaning up against the side of my house! And I know a project will come up soon for them! HA!

And this is pearl!!!

OMG, how fun! Look at that giant pearl necklace!!

And there was some more... slightly creepier... taxidermy...

They are very sweet looking... in a borderline creepy way!

This is the front of an old truck (I'm sure my dad will know what kind!) made into a bar. The headlights even work!

If you are unfamiliar with the Farm Chicks show, it's held in Spokane, Washington at the fairgrounds. It is HUGE! Here is the map you get when you go.

Bay 4 was new this year (it's been open before but not always).

Check out The Farm Chicks blog too, there are some fun things there! The Farm Chicks. These two pictures are from the blog and show a little of their County Fair theme displays.

It takes us 2 1/2 hours to get there from where I live.

The only things I don't like about this show (but not deal breakers at all for us) are the amount of people crammed into the fairground buildings, it can get kind of warm in some of the buildings with all those people.

We waited in line for half an hour to get lunch and it's kind of spendy. We've decided to pack sandwiches or something next year.

We got there about 10:30am I think and we didn't leave until after 5:00pm, our feet were killing us from walking on the concrete floors for 6 1/2 hours straight!

But I LOVE, LOVE this show!

Tomorrow I'll show you what I bought :o)

Wow, I don't think I would have lasted that many hours on a concrete floor!

    1. Thanks! The inside of the trailer was so dark I didn't think a picture would turn out but they had gutted it and lined the walls with shelves. They were selling vintage bar ware (glasses, decanters, etc.) out of it.

  3. Looks like it was a blast. I was following several people on instagram this weekend who went. I made my annual trip on the US40 yard sale - it definitely didn't disappoint!

    1. Oooh, an office out of a vintage trailer would be cool! Years ago I saw one that someone had in their backyard that they had converted into a garden shed and I wanted one ever since! I finally got my vintage trailer back in 2012 and spent a whole summer fixing it up!
