In honor of National Thrift Shop day tomorrow and my love of thrifting I have 7 thrift shop flips to share this week!

For day 2 today, I have a sweet little project with an old angel food cake pan!

National Thrift Shop Day Projects

I picked up the pan and a part from another one of a different style.

I think the piece on the right would fit down inside one without a bottom so that you could lift out the angel food cake. It doesn't fit inside this pan so I know they don't go together... or dooo theeeyyy?!

I gave them both a coat of Rust-Oleum 302591 Chalked Spray Paint, 12 oz, Linen White/White and then while the paint was still wet I stuck the pan on top of the other piece. The paint dried and acts like glue so they are now one piece!

This is how I found them in the thrift shop and inspiration hit when I saw them!

I painted the word "Stuff" on the side with dark brown...

And now we have a unique little container... for stuff!!

It would be great in a craft room or kitchen. The base rotates too!

I left the inside unfinished because I figured taking stuff in and out would scratch it up before long.

Come back tomorrow, for Day 3 of  "7 Days of Thrift Shop Flips" to see what I make from this wooden cactus.

  1. That's so cute! You could probably use the center too, right? Surely you didn't paint "stuff" free hand! Did you use a stencil? I love that it rotates on a base too.
