Treasure Trove Tuesday - This Week's Thrifting Finds

16 May
Ready for another installment of Treasure Trove Tuesday (TTT)?!

This is where I share all the treasures I found for the week at garage sales, estate sales, and thrift shops along with what I paid for each item and the value I estimate for each item (or what I think I can resell it for 😉 because after all, when you are in the business of buying and reselling it's only worth what someone will pay for it am I right?)

What I found at the thrift stores!

I thought these pictures were pretty. I don't know much about art but I know I like these!

I can't get a close look at them because they are professionally framed so I'd have to tear them apart practically to be able to examine them.

Price $3.99 each, Value $14 - $16 each.

I thought these cats were adorable! I put them in my space at the antique mall as is but if they don't sell I might paint the frames.

Price $2.99 for the pair, Value $6 - $8 each.

I found two boxes of these fun bar glasses. One box is called Mixed Doubles and the other Penny Arcade, you'll see why in a second!

Here are the Penny Arcade glasses. Yes, they have little games in the bottoms of the glasses!!

Isn't that fun!!??

My A.D.D. would probably kick in and I'd forget that I'm supposed to be drinking instead of playing the game and I'd spill all over myself! 😝

The Mixed Doubles set are tennis games similar to these.

They are made of plastic and for the most part in pretty good condition.

Price $2.99 each, Value $16 - $18 each.

I love the color of this jewelry box.

And the gold flourishes around the edges.

And the pretty pink interior.

This box once belonged to Florence and it is "fashioned by Farrington". (To my reader Florence... did you lose your jewelry box?! 😁)

Price $2.99, Value $16 - $18.

I thought these textile skirt panels were fun! Apparently, you could "sew tonight... wear tomorrow!" Yah right... not in my sewing world, it would take me at least a week to get the waistband on!!!

Price $1.99 each, Value $12 - $14 each.

I think these glass canisters are reproductions... I know this because I used to have one and I purchased it from a catalog that sells reproduction antiques.

They are still cute though!

Price $2.99 for the small, $3.99 for the large, Value $12 - $14 for the small, $14 - $16 for the large.

Milk glass jars... perfect for flower vases. Anyone know what used to come in these?

Price $1.99 each, Value $8 - $10 each.

A pink mug. Looks like Fireking but has no markings.

Price .99 cents, Value $4 - $6.

I fell in love with this sweet tea set! The sugar bowl is missing the lid but it is still adorable don't you think?!

Look how small the little teacups are!

Marked Made in Occupied Japan. There is an interesting article about this marking here: Why is it marked Occupied Japan?

Price $1.98 for the set, Value $18 - $20.

And I found some more vintage colored glassware for my boho kitchen! See my post about colored glassware here: The Perfect Boho Kitchen Accent - Vintage Colored Glassware

These look a lot like the amber colored glasses that I got which you can also see in that same post.

Price $11.94 for the set of 6, Value... keeping!! 😍

And another keeper I found is this tall basket. I've been looking for something to use for some long plant stems I have.

I think I can nourish the basket with a little Howard's Feed & Wax and it'll be as good as new... and look at those cool lion heads!!

Price $9.99 (a little high but since I'm keeping it I was willing to pay a little more than I normally would).

Love the design on this old metal trash can!

Price $1.99, Value $14 - $16.

These next two items got a little makeover.

The plants in this picture are printed on the glass and the chair is behind the glass, so it looks 3D, it's kind of cool but the frame looked a little drab to me.

So it got a coat of white chalky finish spray paint. If you've never tried this spray paint you can read my review of it here: Krylon Chalky Finish Spray Paint Review & A Desk Organizer Makeover.

Price $1.99, Value $14 - $16.

A lot of us probably remember these old mug racks.

This one got a pretty orange paint makeover!

Price $1.99, Value $14 - $16.

Well, that's it for this week, pretty good haul huh?!

  1. I love TTT! You found so many good things, and I especially like the little tea set. I really like the canisters, even if they aren't "antique." So cute!

I'm not 100% sure but I think your milk glass jars held coffee at one time. I have a couple just like them and they have orange lids. If I run across one, I'll post a pic (moved, stuff still in boxes) :) Love seeing your finds!

  6. Hi Alicia! Coffee huh? I could see that!! I've seen these before but for some reason they NEVER have the lids! I'd love seeing one of yours when you find them! :o)

Awesome week of finds, Would you be willing to sell the wicker frame print you painted via mail? I absolutely love it but live on the east coast so going to your booth---not happening :(

  10. Sure Amanda! How about $14 plus shipping? It weighs a little over 1 pound without a box. Send me your address (to Pelletier4003@charter.net) and I'll get it packaged up and figure out shipping. I can send you the invoice via Paypal if that will work.

Great finds! I think the pink mug is my favorite. I'd only drink tea in it.
