Treasure Trove Tuesday - This Week's Thrifting Finds

23 January
I stopped at a few of my favorite thrift stores over the weekend on the usual hunt for vintage finds for my Etsy shop, Little Boho Cottage... and a few to keep for myself 😏

Treasure Trove Tuesday - This Week's Thrifting Finds

vintage embroidered flowers
I found a few packages of vintage bamboo paper plate holders. I love that each package has several colors (green, pink, yellow, and purple)!

I also found a couple of pretty needlepoint floral pictures.

I think a whole gallery wall of these vintage crewel or embroidery flower pictures would be so cool!

This little box is not vintage but I think it’s so pretty, it has a great boho vibe to it!

carved wooden box

Price $1.99, Value $8.00 – $10.00

This vintage jewelry box is so pretty, it has a music box but sadly someone wound it too tight and it no longer plays. I wish I knew how to fix them.

Isn’t the inside pretty? I love the teal velvet and the worn spot on the mirror.

Price $2.99, Value $18.00 – $20.00, maybe more if I can get the music box working.

I love this pottery dish, it’s in the shape of a pig!

It’s marked on the bottom “ACTU Chile”. Wow! I’m surprised at how much this stuff is selling for on eBay! ACTU Chile pottery on eBay

This one was originally priced at $9.99 but I pointed out that it has a crack and asked if they would come down on the price. They came down to $6.99 and then I had a $5 off coupon so it was only $1.99!

I wanted it for myself to use as a fruit bowl so the crack doesn't matter as much.

Doesn’t he have a cute little face?! 😃

Speaking of pottery, aren’t these little angels cute? The one on the left can hold a little candle and the one in the middle is a bell!

I am so surprised that their cute little wings aren’t broken because they were just shoved in a bag together and thrown onto the shelves.

They are marked “Beck” on the bottom. I only found one pair of similar angels on eBay and they were priced $29.99 for the pair.

Price $3.99, Value $30.00 – $35.00

And finally, the find that made my boho loving heart skip a beat! I almost had to trample a small child to get to it! haha... kidding... kind of 😋I  love this beautiful lady print and I’ll be keeping her.

vintage Harnett painting

I think her face is so pretty, she reminds me of a gypsy.

Vintage Harnett picture

It is signed “Harnett” and her name is Marta. It is written on the back and the listings on eBay I found all call her Marta.

Price $14.99 (I paid more than I would have if I was reselling her but since she is for me I was ok with that price).

I purchased two of these latch hook canvases with the intention of hooking them together...

  1. Wow, love Marta too, and the pig bowl! I have several cross stitch pictures I think are so cute, but they won't sell. Still keeping fingers crossed. I'm getting itchy for a thrift store fix.

  5. It's cute isn't it... the little pig bowl? Yah, that small kid was seriously IN MY WAY!! And her parent's were no where around!

  6. Aren't those rugs beautiful?! They remind me of latch hook and so I thought maybe I could just buy random latch hook yarns when I see them at the thrift shop and do a very random or just colorful rug!

  7. Maybe we should try displaying all our cross stitch and stitcheries together on a wall to give ideas for how they would look. I think I have like 3 or 4 so that might work!

  10. Well if you go to thrift stores and you happen to see the packages of latch hook yarn without the whole kit pick it up for me and I'll pay you whatever you spent and shipping. It doesn't even matter the colors because those rugs are so colorful! I'm heading to the thrift stores this weekend looking for that yarn!

  12. I loved Marta, too, and seriously covet her eyelashes! Liked all your finds. I picked up an overwound music box once with a doll attached to the top. During the course of my shopping, I dropped her and the thump was enough to get the music box unjammed; word to the wise! NOW, I take them apart, poof on them and use a brush to remove dust and fidget with them to see if I can get them to play a note or two and get them unstuck. More than half the time it works. As I often love the ceramic statue, etc they are mounted in, the music is secondary sometimes.

  13. I did take a look at the music box innards but didn't take it out and mess with it too much, I might try again though after hearing your great results!
