Hello, My Name is Bertha - RV Mood Board

21 August
Hi there!

A couple of weeks ago I shared some exciting news... my new-to-me vintage motorhome!

If you missed that post be sure to check it out: Exciting News at Little Vintage Cottage! There's a video tour of what she looked like when we first brought her home (well, she's living at my parent's house while we work on her).

1974 Shasta Motorhome

I have named her Bertha... for some reason, she just looks like a Bertha to me😂

We have already gotten started on Bertha's makeover but don't have any exciting pictures to share just yet. We have ripped out the nasty carpet and found a TON of dirt underneath! She's got to feel so much better with that all cleaned up.

My dad has started engine tune-ups and I started replacing the old plastic RV corner molding with new wood corner molding. I think it will be much easier when I paint her to have wood rather than plastic so the paint will stick!

I have created a mood board for Bertha! It's cozy, rustic, and boho all wrapped into one!

I already have some of these things, let me walk you through my vision.

  1. I just found this Chesapeake Bay Candle today on sale at Fred Meyer! It's Chestnut & Acorn and it smells SO good! I thought it was appropriate for an RV.
  2. I found this pretty Quilted Throw at TJ Maxx. It's from the Mabel Collection.
  3. This is the avocado green color of the counters and dinette table and it's in really good condition so I'm just going to embrace it!
  4. I want to redo the floor with vinyl that looks like weathered planks.
  5. I found a glass hanging planter similar to this at a garage sale for $1, I want to put an air plant in mine like this one.
  6. I already have this pillow but they are also available Here.
  7. I found this ADORABLE Shower Curtain on sale at TJ Maxx the same day I found the throw. The woodland animals are wearing red eyeglasses!! Bertha has a shower and she needs a new shower curtain to replace the ugly old yellow one!
  8. These beautiful tiles are self-adhesive! I read good things about this company's tiles for RV installations so I have made arrangements to try some out! I chose the Metro Cassandra tiles.
  9. I'm going to try DIYing a wall hanging similar to these.
  10. I'm planning an accent wall of rustic wood planks. I'm not sure yet if I'll use textured wallpaper to get the look or real wood.
