Linen Closet Makeover with DYMO
16 May
Thank you to DYMO for partnering with me to bring you this linen closet makeover post! Financial compensation was not received for this post, a sample product was gifted. Ideas and opinions expressed here are my own.
I love having an organized, clean home but like many people sometimes it's only the areas that you see the most that are that way... the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom... but other areas can suffer. Things get thrown in spare bedrooms and closets and the doors are closed... outta sight, outta mind... until the next time you open that door 😒
I think closets are the most abused... but I'm out to change that in my home! Today I'm sharing my linen closet makeover in partnership with DYMO.
I start almost every makeover with fresh paint... even inside the closet deserves fresh paint to make it sparkle! First, I removed all the shelves.
Better already!
Rolling them and storing them in a basket like this makes them easy to access. No more trying to pull a blanket from the bottom of the stack only to have all of them end up on top of you!
Compact and pretty!
I managed to get 2 blankets, a quilt, and three extra pillows all on one shelf!
Now, I know it's pretty obvious what these things are but I still wanted the cute labels on them!
You just push the on button, spell out the labels you want and push print and it spits it out the back!
The little peephole in the back lets you know what color of tape you have in there without opening it, that's so handy! Here are some more great facts:
I use plastic grocery bags for the bathroom garbage can and I was sure tired of bags shoved in the closet, they are so ugly! This polka dot basket makes them cute! 😀
I found this plastic bin at the grocery store and turned it on its side to hold extra shampoo and conditioner.
I couldn't stand the cuteness... I had to have this Squatty Potty Plunger!! How often is a plunger cute?!
I used the over-the-door organizer to hold bath bombs, lotions, etc. and I hung this cute little porthole mirror on it.

Linen Closet Makeover with DYMO
Like lots of unorganized linen closets, this one just has random things shoved here and there with no rhyme or reason to it... hmmm... where should I put this {insert random object name}? I'll just stick it in here for now. Sound familiar?!
My house has boring, brown, hollow-core doors. I've slowly been painting them all and it has such a big impact! It is especially impactful in a dark hallway!

Then I used a fun Mermaid Shelf Liner to line the back of my linen closet. It makes me smile every time I open the door now! I used White Contact Paper to cover the shelves.
These are the basic supplies I used to begin organizing: A Fabric Over the Door Organizer, grey plastic baskets (similar to THESE), and a large woven plastic basket (similar to THIS).
I wanted to store the blankets without them taking up an entire shelf so I decided to roll them and put them in the big basket.

I made my tags with some scraps of thin wood I had left over from another project.
Now, I want to show you how easy DYMO's Label Manager is to use. Seriously, it's even easier than the old school label makers!
You just push the on button, spell out the labels you want and push print and it spits it out the back!
Push the cutter/scissors button on the side to cut the label.
Even the label cartridges are so simple to use, you just plop it in and push it down until it clicks, that's it! No threading the tape in or anything!
The little peephole in the back lets you know what color of tape you have in there without opening it, that's so handy! Here are some more great facts:
- They use thermal transfer print technology so no ink or toner is required.
- The tapes come in 12 colors and 5 widths!
- Labels can be removed without leaving a residue.
- They adhere to most surfaces (plastic, metal, glass, wood, and paper).
- The 1/2" tape cartridge has 10 feet of the label, that's a lot of little labels!
It took me a minute (or 15 trying to get that first label backing off!) to figure out that they have split the backing so if you bend the label a little bit it's easy to grab hold and pull the backing off, genius!
I made little tags with labels for all the baskets.

Finally, I added a label inventory to my First Aid Kit! See how I made my DIY Lunchbox First Aid Kit here!
