Upcycled Banana Hanger and Oui Yogurt Jar

This is how it looked when I found it. The only other things I needed for this project were some cotton string, paint, and a Sharpie pen (not pictured).


To make the little macrame jar holder, I followed Karen's tutorial over at Decor Hint.

I cut my strings at 18" long each. They could have been slightly longer but in the end, it still worked out.


Once you get all your strings cut then gather them together and tie them in a knot at the top.


Hang it on the banana hanger and begin tying the knots following the tutorial above.


Cute yah?? I chose to forgo the tassel at the bottom of the jar.


Now dress up the banana hanger... you can paint it, stain it, stencil or stamp it! I chose to paint mine with Oyster Shell white.



I wanted a little something on the bottom, below where the macrame jar will hang. I chose a bohemian style eye. I found one I liked online and just free-handed something similar in pencil.


Then use a Sharpie fine-point marker to trace over the pencil lines.




Then just hang the little macrame Oui jar from the hook!


Pop in a plant or a candle!!




I have it sitting in my kitchen windowsill.
