Decorating with Decocrated - Spring Box Review!

15 April
Thank you to Decocrated for partnering with me to bring you this review of their spring box! Financial compensation was not received for this post, the spring box for 2021 was gifted. The ideas and opinions expressed here are my own. This post also contains affiliate links. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

Today I am reviewing the spring box from Decocrated. No that's not a misspelling, it's home decor in a crate... deco-crated! 😃 clever right?!

Decocrated Spring Box Review
I am so excited to be reviewing this quarterly subscription box, I actually received the box but had to wait a few days so I had time to open it and make a video! The suspense was killing me!!

Check out my unboxing video (the contents were a surprise to me too!) and then scroll down to see how I used the items in my home! Don't laugh, I'm such a dork on camera 😂

First, I'll answer a few questions you may have. I had these same questions at first too!

Q - What is Decocrated?
A - Decocrated is a subscription box service where you will receive a specially curated box in the mail each season full of high-quality home decor!

Q - What kinds of things do they send?
A - Each box contains six to eight full-size home decor items and a booklet filled with decor ideas and inspiration on how to style your home with your new items. The items coordinate with each other and will easily fit into your existing home decor.

My spring box contained the following (you can see them all in the video):
  • a metal planter with a wooden stand
  • a large wooden table runner/riser
  • a set of two wooden flower prints
  • a wooden clip frame and postcard to display inside
  • a spring floral pillow cover
  • a stack of faux books
Q - How much does it cost?
A - There are two options for payment:
  • quarterly - $79.99 (billed every 3 months)
  • yearly - $287.99 (save 10% for the year)
  • Shipping is always free!
  • Bonus! Right now you can use the code SPRING15 to save 15% off your first box!
Q - What did I think?
A - It was a lot of fun receiving my box, it felt like Christmas!

My first thought about price is that it's kind of expensive but then I actually priced out similar items to see how much it would be if I bought the items individually (either online or in the store). Here is what I found for comparable prices: wooden table runner: $30, metal planter with wood stand: $30, wooden flower prints: $20, wooden clip frame: $15, pillow cover: $15, faux books: $10. That's $120, maybe more!

It's great if you hate shopping but want cute stuff in your home! It would also make a great gift, you can cancel any time so you could just get one box for someone... I'm thinking housewarming gift!! 😊

After I unpacked the box, I set to work decorating with the items I received! I used some of the items in my kitchen... which actually spurred a whole kitchen cleaning and refresh!

I decluttered and rearranged this cupboard that holds my vintage drinking glass collection.

I used the wooden clip picture frame up on the top shelf of this cupboard with the postcard displayed.

The wooden table runner/riser is on the counter, there was even space underneath it to slide a cutting board into!

Over to the left of the stove, I used the planter to hold my kitchen utensils!

I just need one more of these vintage bird plant watering stakes and I'll have a collection (3 or more of anything is considered a collection 😉!)

  2. Wonderful variety of fun goodies. You did a great job displaying everything. It was fun watching the "unveiling" on the video! I like your idea of giving a box as a gift, if it's possible to just gift one.

  4. Hi Tania, I think what you have are actually vintage pie birds. According to AntiqueTrader.com, "Pie birds are useful tools to prevent pies from bubbling over, can be found in various shapes and colors and are cute ceramic figurines to display in the kitchen." https://www.antiquetrader.com/collectibles/vintage-pie-birds-are-functional-whimsical-collectibles I hope you can find more!

    1. Hi Marilyn! Actually, I should have clarified better in my post. The little yellow one standing up on his own is probably a pie bird, you are right. The other two however have little clay spikes on the bottom so they will not stand up. You pour water into their open mouths and it slowly seeps through the clay spike and waters your plants :o)
