Treasure Trove Tuesday - Thrift Haul

27 April

Hi there! How have your thrifting ventures been lately? Have you hit any good thrift stores or yard sales?

Yard sales have just started to spring up here and there where I live but I haven't been to any yet. I've had good luck at the thrift stores over the last few weeks though and I've got lots to share today for Treasure Trove Tuesday!

Treasure Trove Tuesday - Thrift Haul

Treasure Trove Tuesday - My Latest Thrifting Finds
I found these ironwood cactus and coyote figurines at one of my favorite locally-owned thrift stores. I've never heard of ironwood and didn't know that's what they were called until I sat down to do some research. Apparently ironwood is just a term that is used to describe any number of trees with exceptionally hard or tough wood. Or it's a city in Michigan! 😂

They had a whole bunch of different figurines at this thrift store but I only picked up these two because I wasn't really sure how popular or valuable they might be so just wanted to start with these two... I may have to go back and see if they still have more though because it seems like they are quite popular!

Price - cactus: $3.99, coyote: $2.99
Value - $15 - 30 for the pair

I liked this 1980's sunset picture. It's very retro with the muted colors. I can't find it online anywhere although I know I've seen similar prints with the pastel look. I'm torn though, do you think I should leave the oak frame or paint it? It would really accent the picture if I painted it a peachy pink color to match the sun.

Price $2.99
Value $18 - $20.

Ornate vintage metal frames like these always sell. I will take out the weird Christmas pictures and redonate them, then replace them with a piece of pretty scrapbook paper (frames always sell faster when they have pretty paper inside).

  1. In the Southwest, ironwood is a definite tree; people love using them in their yards as they are such pretty, drought-tolerant trees. The wood is very hard--and hard to carve! These Tuesdays are my favorite Tuesdays!!!
