Tiny Bathroom Makeover - Part 2 - The Reveal!

30 December

Are you ready to see the finished bathroom in the basement?!

I am so happy with how it turned out and I can't wait to share it with you!

It's more than just a bathroom... it's a spa! 😁 Not really but it sure feels like it compared to what it looked like before!!

If you missed the first part of this transformation (Tiny Bathroom Makeover - Part One), be sure to go check that out first to be able to really appreciate how far this little space has come!

I made a video sharing the transformation from Part One to where we are now. It shows a lot more detail so be sure to watch that below.

Here I'm just going to share the final reveal pictures and a few side-by-side before and after comparisons.

I am so in love with this bright, bold, and funky wallpaper and the green walls which was actually a happy accident! I originally planned to wallpaper the whole room but I miscalculated and didn't order enough. I decided that it would be a bit much with the floor and the whole room wallpapered so I picked a color from the wallpaper and painted the rest of the walls green.

This hole in the wall was what was behind the 80's medicine cabinet, it used to be a small, built-in medicine cabinet. We don't use this bathroom much and don't need a medicine cabinet down here so I framed it out, added a shelf on the bottom, and then just added a vintage mirror that I already had. That little basket on the shelf is what started the whole color scheme and vision for this bathroom, I found it at Goodwill for $1.99 😊

Right outside this bathroom is the laundry room. There is no sink in there and we really wanted a deep laundry sink so we put it in this bathroom! We had to get creative with the installation to make it fit this tiny space (check out part one to see why) and this is the compact version of this sink! Here you can see the flooring and the new shower floor (more about that in a minute)!

I added some shelves that I had above the toilet. Those cute little framed florals are actually vintage playing cards! I found them at a cute little shop called The Brown Pear on Etsy. I picked up two small picture frames at another local thrift store for $1.49 each to frame them.

I've had this vintage owl coin bank for years. I tried to get rid of it (reluctantly) at our garage sale before we moved in together but it didn't sell (happily) so I kept it. It never really fit in anywhere but I always thought it was so cute and now he has the perfect home where he fits right in!!

I picked up this vintage poster at yet another thrift store for just .99 cents!

We will be using this bathroom when we come in from the pool in the summer so this poster seemed perfect! (I may try to find or make a frame for it but for now, I just tacked it up).

Here's that shower floor??!!

Tiny Bathroom Makeover - Part 2 - The Reveal!

I wanted a spa-like feel in here with a teak shower floor. Unfortunately, our local stores don't carry the teak or acacia wood that you would use. I did find some online but with the price of wood right now, it will have to wait.

Instead, I used faux teak deck tiles. The only disadvantage is that this floor won't lift up in one piece for cleaning, and the 12x12 tiles come apart. That's not too handy for cleaning underneath it but since we don't use this bathroom much, I think it will be fine until I can build a one-piece floor that will just lift up. Be sure to check out the video to see what the shower floor looked like before!

We got a new shower nozzle and knob to replace the old, worn-out ones that were there. I also ordered some real eucalyptus to hang in the shower from another Etsy shop called Hello Eucalyptus. Oh man... it smells so good when you shower!! 😍

Well, what do you think?!

Still to come... a new sliding barn-style door! Right now there is no door between the laundry room and this bathroom but I am working on the laundry room as you read this post!

If you liked this post, I'd love it if you'd share it!
