We are finally all done with the laundry room makeover!

If you haven't seen the Laundry Room Makeover - Part 1 yet, be sure to watch that.

This was one of the more difficult makeovers we've done so far in our fixer-upper but it was a labor of love and the end results make it all worthwhile!

Would you like to see it?

I have also created a video on my Youtube channel that shows the process we went through to get from where it was to here! You can watch it below.

This is what it looked like before.

Laundry Room Makeover - Part 2

We repaired and painted the walls, ceiling, and window trim. We removed the old cabinets and replaced them with open shelving. We removed the old vinyl flooring and rubber baseboards and put down a penny tile floor and new baseboards.

We had already removed the vinyl floor in this picture but then it sat like this for far too long!

Here is the new penny tile floor! 😍

It's surprising how much bigger, lighter, and brighter it feels!

Here is the transformation of the old hollow core door that was between the little bathroom and laundry room.

We reused the old door to create a fun sliding door using this Ceiling Mount Box Rail Hardware!

I decided to leave the back door natural wood since I'm bringing in other natural wood with the shelves and the sliding door details.

Here you can also see the trim I added to the door that leads into the laundry room. It's also a hollow core door so this really brings it up a notch and makes it look high-end!

We updated this old light just with a good cleaning and a new globe.

Laundry Room Makeover - Part 2

I found the over-the-door iron and ironing board hanger at Goodwill and I disguised the hot water heater with a thrifted Pier 1 curtain. I used the same technique at my last house, you can see those posts here:

To answer a frequently asked question... no, it's not a fire hazard to cover the hot water heater with fabric because this is a standard electric hot water heater, not gas. It does not get hot to the touch, nor are there any electrical connections around the outside of it.
