I am still working my way through the small hoard of upcycling and repurposing candidates I have before I buy anything new.
I am using two Christmas teacups I have had for a while in today's project.
It's also perfect timing because it's time for the Do-It-Over-Designers challenge where a group of my blogging friends and I take something old and "do it over" into something new!
If you stick around to the end of my project, there will be links to the other ladies' projects.

I had two of these Christmas teacups that I got last year at Goodwill and I have a whole hat box full of vintage Christmas goodies like this little Santa Claus ornament.
I used a piece of styrofoam that came in a box with something I ordered once and I cut a circle out of it that will fit down into the teacup a little bit.
It is glued into the cup with E6000.
You can use the green florist's foam too but I recommend white instead. It looks like snow and you don't have to worry if a little bit of it shows through. If you use green, you'll have to be diligent about making sure none of it shows.
Once the foam has had a few minutes for the glue to grab hold, start with some evergreen sprigs. This is just one evergreen branch that I cut in half.
I added a glittery gold star ornament too securing each with hot glue.
Then add the main focal point which in mine is the Santa ornament.
I have some vintage mercury glass ornament spikes in my stash so I used a few of them in the arrangement.
To cover the gaps around the edges, I used some red tinsel garland.
Next some little glass ball ornaments.
I filled in with some of these sequined foam balls so I wouldn't use up all my vintage ornaments! I found these at a garage sale over the summer.
I'm showing one in the arrangement here. You'll see the rest in a minute.
I thought Santa needed a candy cane in his hand.
These are from Hobby Lobby. They sell them with the miniature trees there. I just snipped the loop off the top and glued it over Santa's hand.
You can see here that I added another glass ball ornament and sequin ball.
And lastly, I added a glittery silver bell with a red bead inside.
What do you think? Isn't it cute?!
I made one with Mrs. Santa too.
She was a straight-up mess though! Her hair had some old glue stuck in it that was crusty and yellowed, she was missing an arm, and she had skis... 😕
Luckily I found her arm in the bottom of the box she was in, but what delusional ornament maker thinks that Mrs. Santa Claus SKIS?! No way, she's too busy making gingerbread cookies for the elves!
This tiny little gingerbread cookie was in a box full of craft supplies that my friend Vikki sent me, isn't it adorable?!
I fixed her hair by cutting the glue out and then covering the spot up with a new pom-pom bun and a bow. I got rid of her ridiculous skis too 🙄
