Decorating for St. Patrick's Day
15 March
Sometimes I only decorate my home for the major holidays... you know... Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. but this year (at least so far 😉) I am in the mood to decorate for all the holidays!
St. Patrick's Day is no exception! In fact, I feel like this holiday gets the short end of the stick!
So, I'm showing it some love this year and I'm sharing my St. Patrick's Day decor!
Mind you, I didn't decorate the whole dang house or anything crazy like that!
But I did a few little vignettes in the kitchen and dining room.
I love creating a display for my dining room table. For this one, I used a long, skinny cutting board as the base and then layered a green and white doily that my grandma made under it.
I made the St. Patrick's Day Shadow Box and the Upcycled Tin Can St. Patrick's Day Hat this year, check out those links if you missed those!
I made this free printable (and another one you'll see soon) and shared them with you last year: St. Patrick's Day Decor & Free Printables
I made the funny little Shamrock lady years and years ago, she's called a "make-do". I love her, she makes me smile every year when I get her out!
The crochet shamrock confetti is from Etsy, I'll share sources at the end of the post.
Next, I moved over to my buffet.
I made the pennant banner years ago with old book pages and scrapbook papers.
I shared the wine cork shamrock last year on my Instagram but I don't think it ever made it onto the blog!
This is the other free printable from that post. By the way, they are a great way to beef up your decor for next to nothing if you only have a couple of items!
My daughter made this sucker holder when she was little 😊
And finally, my favorite piece!!!
Have you seen all the decorated tiered trays on Pinterest? OMG, I fell in love when I started seeing them and I HAD. TO. HAVE. ONE!
I must have hit every store near me trying to find one! I finally found mine at Hobby Lobby. I also found this adorable little sign there.
Then I set to work decorating it!
Most of the items I found just by shopping my own house but I got a few things at Goodwill too and the little flag is from Target's Dollar Spot.
The "Lucky" letters are children's refrigerator magnets that I painted gold.
I just love it and I can't wait to decorate it for all the other holidays! If you only made up a pretty tiered tray like this and nothing else that would still be so cute and festive!
