Vintage Thanksgiving Vignette
09 October
Some blogging friends and I are getting together today for a little vintage Thanksgiving blog hop! We will each be sharing a vintage-themed Thanksgiving project!
You can learn more about Gurley candles in my guide: Gurley and Tavern Candles Collectibles Guide.
I will share mine with you here first and then you'll be able to "hop" over to the other ladies' blogs to see their projects! It sounds like fun, right? 😀
Vintage Thanksgiving Vignette with the Creative Vintage Darlings
My project started with this antique clock I brought home from my mom's house.
It belonged to my grandma and while I don't think it works anymore, I think it's so beautiful 😍
You can learn more about Gurley candles in my guide: Gurley and Tavern Candles Collectibles Guide.
I added some fairy lights to the inside of the clock by stringing them through a hole already in the back of the clock. The battery pack for the lights nestles nicely underneath the clock.
I used black command hooks to hold some of the lights in place and tucked some up under the bell in the clock.
Then I added some things inside the clock to make a sweet Thanksgiving scene:
- the pilgrim couple
- a turkey
- a little Indian candle
- a mini bail of hay
- a pumpkin wreath
- a tiny faux pumpkin
- some tiny pinecones
- faux leaves
And I tucked a vintage fall postcard I had behind the lights to create a background.
I used some orange baker's twine and vintage book pages to make a mini pennant banner.
I stamped "Give" on the banner and hung it across the top.
And then used Scrabble tiles to spell out "Thanks."
I have it sitting on the entry table in my living room.
Now be sure to check out the other ladies' vintage Thanksgiving goodies!!
