Welcome to the 12 Months of Christmas Ornaments series!

Every year it seems like time flies by and before you know it, Christmas has come and gone.

There's so much to do with shopping, baking, wrapping, etc., that every year I don't make it through all the projects I wanted to do.

But why not keep making them?

We are starting with Christmas in January!

Each month, we'll recreate a retro, old-school Christmas ornament... the kinds we used to see on our childhood trees! Just think, if you make even just 2 of each ornament, at the end of the year you'll have 24 new ornaments for your tree!

I'll share a video tutorial along with a written tutorial. I'd love it if you'd join in and make these with me! 

I'll have a thread on my Facebook page where we can all share our finished ornaments so be sure to like and follow there. If you are not on Facebook, you can send me pictures of your ornaments if you'd like.

Here is the video tutorial, I hope you enjoy it! (Directions are also in the print form below).

Step One - Cut out a template

Use the ruler and a pencil to draw and cut out a little template to use to make your ornaments. Measurements are 2 1/2" across the bottom, 1 3/4" on each side, and 2 1/8" on the peak sides.

Step Three - Glue the pieces together

Glue these two pieces together. White craft or school glue or a glue stick will work. (NOTE: if your chosen card is thicker cardstock paper, you can skip this step if desired).

Step Four - Add the toothpick frame

Put a dab of glue on each end of your toothpicks and begin building the house-shaped frame. Layer the end of each toothpick over the other for a log cabin effect.

This is the back, don't forget to sign and date your ornaments for future reminiscing!! 😉

This one got a little wreath.

This one is actually the other half of the Santa card and I added a vintage gummed candy cane sticker and glittery plastic candy cane and holly leaves.

I love how these look next to each other.
