Vintage-Style Halloween Witch

Well, today is the big day, Happy National Thrift Shop Day!

Today is also the last day of 7 Days of Thrift Shop Flips and for today's project, I decided to start my fall crafting with a little Halloween project.

I found two of these small wall hangings recently at the thrift store for .99 cents each and I thrifted the doll faces a long time ago when I was more into altered art but I've hung on to them because they are so cute.

I decided to put the two together and make a cute little vintage-style altered witch assemblage!

I used Bright Orange craft paint to paint the wall hanging.

I didn't worry too much about the center where the word is because you won't see that part when it's finished but I did two coats on the rest.

Then I used hot glue to add the doll face to the orange wall hanging.

I also recently found this black glitter scrapbook paper at the thrift store. There were two sheets in the package and it was $1.99.

I used it to make a witch hat! First, I cut a template from plain paper so that I didn't waste any of the glittery paper if I messed up.

Here's my little hat shape. You just roll it up and glue the seam to form the hat.

I added a brim so it looked like an actual witch's hat and not a dunce cap 😂

And then I added some orange rick-rack trim (also thrifted).

I used two green chenille stems (yep... thrifted)...

... to make some curly green hair.

Now, I made a bow for her hat with scraps of orange and black ribbons.

To make a ribbon scrap bow, just stack them up and tie them together in the middle. Then spread them apart so you can see all the different ribbons.

This is a great way to make a bow if you don't have enough ribbon to tie a traditional bow!

I added a black plastic star and black ribbon rose (you guessed it, they are thrifted!) to dress up the bow a little bit.

She just needs a few more details and she'll be all done!

I used some of this crepe paper ribbon to cover her bare neck (I think I actually bought this new, but it's been years ago).

I folded it in half lengthwise and then scrunched it all up to make it fluffier.

And the final touches are a black pom-pom on the end of her hat, some rick-rack trim and a black button with orange thread on her neckline, and a glittery mask!
