DIY Copper Pot Rack and a Simple Fridge Update
I haven't posted much about the rental cottage that my daughter and I are fixing up for her lately but we are still working away on it every weekend.
If you aren't sure what I'm talking about, check out this post that explains it all: New Rental House Tour.
We've been working in the kitchen lately. So far we have:
- Had a new floor installed, painted and added a wallpaper accent wall, installed a new ceiling light, and added new cabinet hardware
- Made a rolling spice rack from curbside finds and a custom over-the-stove shelf
- Made a kitchen island from an antique yard sale cupboard
- Made our own throw rug from vintage estate sale carpeting

I've been lax on making videos lately for these updates but I did make a quick one and of course, the regular blog post is below as well.
This kitchen has come a long way already and there's still lots we want to do! Here is what this side of the kitchen looked like when I bought the house.
I think this side of the kitchen looks so much nicer now and functions much better.
For the refrigerator update, she wanted it to look more high-end and fancy so we added gold handles!
We used an 18" and a 12" gold towel bar and all we did was glue the pieces that would normally be screwed into the wall to the refrigerator with J-B Weld adhesive (this wall mount piece would normally be screwed into the wall with screws in the holes on the left and right and then the towel bar attaches with little set screws).
There are still some things we want to do in this room like:
- Replace the ugly dining room pendant light (you can see a glimpse of it in the picture above)
- Build a bench for dining room table seating
- Add some shelves in the corner above the bench we'll build
