Dollhouse Kitchen Details - Part I

Baskets and bowls and clocks, oh my!

I have some dollhouse kitchen details to share!

This is part 1 so there's more for later too!

Dollhouse Kitchen Details - Part I

dollhouse kitchen details
I have the base of my kitchen pretty much done now. If you missed any of those posts you can see them all here:

I still needed a refrigerator though. But I think I have mentioned before that my dollhouse is not the normal scale so regular miniatures don't always fit. I've had to cut down the cabinets for the sink and stove and the fridge was no different! It was WAY too big!

So my mom came to the rescue and cut the top right off! (she's been doing all my adjustments since her saw is easily accessible) I can use the top as a cabinet somewhere else.

Then it seemed just a tiny bit short so I added some little bun feet to lift it up just a little!

I felt like my new fridge needed something on top... a basket seemed perfect!

Supplies Needed to Make a Dollhouse Basket

I used Pearl Cotton Embroidery Floss to make this little basket. Pearl cotton thread is only one strand instead of multiple tiny strands. First, I braided three strands into one long rope and then I wrapped it around a plastic lid that was the size I wanted my basket to be. Then I used my finger and just wiped glue all over it. Since the glue dries clear it acted as a stiffener and adhesive!

Once it has dried a little bit carefully slide it off the lid and let it dry completely.

I added the little handles by cutting tiny strips of fabric, gluing them on, and then using a pen to make the little nail head.

It is now sitting on top of the fridge! My grandma made the little doily for my childhood dollhouse 😊

And what kitchen is complete without a clock?!

Supplies Needed to Make a Dollhouse Clock
  • Large button
  • Glue
  • Clockface printable (there are tons of them HERE)

This is probably the simplest project ever! Just cut out the clock face and glue it to a button!

Isn't that cute?!

I hung mine up above the fridge using Poster Tack.

And did you see those bowls on the shelf on the wall?

Supplies Needed to Make the Bowls

I just painted the bowls white and then added blue polka dots to one and stripes to the other.

I like them stacked on the shelf like this!

I think I need a picture leaning on one of the shelves and a plant (stay tuned!)

The "EAT" sign is made with Scrabble tiles put up with Poster Tack.

I can't wait to show you the other things I've made! What do you think of these projects?
