Vintage Motorhome Closets, Drawers, and Trim

31 July
It's been a minute since I've posted anything about Bertha, my vintage motorhome, hasn't it?

I haven't done a whole lot of work on her because I've been busy with my garage remodel and it's also been really hot which makes it a little bit miserable to try and work inside her.

But I have gotten a few things done!

Let's start with these three drawers under the refrigerator. Here is a before shot, the only one that shows those drawers!

And here is an in-progress shot after I painted Bertha's interior white.

I used some Faux Gingham Cloth Look Contact Paper to line them. It coordinates with the pillows I made here: Easy DIY Pillow Covers.

My mom and I also replaced a bunch of the old, broken plastic trim. Here's a before shot:

We used this Iron on Veneer Edging.

It looks so much nicer!

We finished installing the new interior vent covers. You can see how we replaced the old, brittle vents with new ones here: How to Replace an RV Roof Vent.

The closet is the latest thing I finished! Here is the before shot:

I used the leftover scraps of wallpaper from my Living Room Makeover - Wallpaper and a New Front Door

Then I painted the shelves, ceiling, and inside the door. If you look closely you'll see that I didn't have enough wallpaper scraps to be able to match the pattern at the seams but I don't think it's that noticeable and the closet will have stuff in it which will hide a lot of it anyway. And once we are able to check out all the wiring I will create a little box to cover the wires in the back so they won't get snagged.

I love how crisp and clean it looks now!

My plan for inside the closet door is to put bumper stickers from the places we go! I think that will be fun. When I was growing up my parent's belonged to a hot rod club. We had a trailer that we took on all the trips and for each trip we got a dash plaque that we had displayed inside the bathroom door. This will remind me of that 😊
