Reader Survey Q & A With Tania!

03 June
I recently put out a 2021 LVC reader survey to my subscriber list asking if you'd be so kind as to take the survey. It's anonymous so I don't know if you filled it out or not. If not, I'd love for you to help me out by taking the survey, it's only eleven short questions and it really helps me gauge how I'm doing, plan future content, etc! 🙏 Click HERE to take the survey.

Oh... and side note... if you're not subscribed, omg why not?! I promise I won't bombard you with tons of emails. I only send out a newsletter once in a while when I've got something I want or need to share and you can unsubscribe anytime. I sometimes give sneak peeks of what's to come or what I'm working on too! Subscribe!

Anyway... I was looking through the survey responses and there are a lot of good questions there. Some are actual questions, some are just suggestions or ideas but I want to try to respond to them all so I thought what better place than here?!

**Also, be sure to stay to the end because I have a question for you too!!**

So grab a snack and a cup of coffee or tea because this is a long post with lots of links and information to explore! I hope you enjoy it!

Here we go!

Q: I love your Tuesday finds and I find it a challenge to locate these types of stores in our area.

Tuesday finds are my Treasure Trove Tuesday posts where I share my recent thrift hauls. I include what I paid for each item and what I plan to resell it for.

A: I am very lucky to have a lot of great thrift stores where I live but I understand that you may not have that. So, I did a little hunting and found the next best thing, some online thrift stores!! 😃

1. SecondSale - Cheap used books! Millions of new and used books starting at $3.78!
2. ShopGoodwill - It's Goodwill... but online!!
3. Etsy - I love Etsy... I even have my own shop there!
4. ThriftSeekers - I have not shopped here but it looks like a nicer, cleaner, smaller version of eBay.

Q: I'd l
ike to see more RV remodeling/Vintage trailers rehab.

A: We ran into some problems but we are finally making some progress. It's engine stuff so not something that would be a good blog post. I hope to be able to start on the interior again soon! Check the Home on Wheels category to see if there's anything you missed while you wait!

Q: Great job and don’t forget us Pinterest addicts!

A: I am definitely a Pinterest addict too, I always scour Pinterest for inspiration and ideas. In fact, I have a Pinterest board dedicated to you, it's called "Little Vintage Cottage Fans - Project Suggestions." I'm not sure you can join with that link so let me know if you'd like to join the group board
(I just need your Pinterest username). I'll add you and you can start pinning! I am planning to go through what you've pinned and recreate some of those ideas.

Q: How to organize my craft area/How to organize my junk (as my children call it)

A: My stuff has been called junk before too, lol! First, check out my craft studio for some ideas for how I organize my craft space.

Reader Survey Q&A

Then check out these posts:

Q: Yard decor ideas

A: Yes, I have yard decor ideas! I have a whole category dedicated to Outdoor Decor ideas and I have the patio makeover to share soon!

Q: How did you get into DIY?

A: Definitely check out this post I wrote answering that very question, How Did You Get to be so Creative? and my About Me page!

Q: Upcycling Clothes

A: I'm not quite sure what kind of clothes upcycling you mean... upcycling clothing into another wearable form? Or upcycling clothing into something completely different?

I do use clothes in projects sometimes, here are some examples:

Q: From time to time could you use a freelance writer?

A: I do sometimes need help with things but I'm not at the point in my blogging journey that I can afford to pay someone yet plus, to keep my blog authentic, I like to write all my own content but thank you for the offer. 😊

Q: Maybe add content about pricing items to resell?

A: I have thought about that before but I'm not an expert in that field. I do share in the Treasure Trove Tuesday posts what I paid for an item and how I plan to price it for resale. My method for figuring out prices is quite simple...
  1. Look up said item on Etsy where I am planning to resell to see the average price others are reselling the item at.
  2. Look up the item on eBay in the completed/sold listings because you can see what price they are actually selling for.
  3. My motto is... an item is only worth the amount someone is willing to pay!
Q: patchwork ideas

A: Oooh! I don't think I've ever done any patchwork! The closest thing is this Upcycled Wooden Tray (it has a patchwork design made with paper)! Oh, and Ted, the little patchwork bear! 😊 I will take this into consideration! Feel free to join that group Pinterest board and pin some ideas for me!

Q: I think you're great. I wish we could just talk to each other, hang out for a day.

A: Aww, thank you so much! I wish we could too, but don't be shy about commenting on my blog posts or replying to newsletters. I always answer! You can also just email me at Tania@littlevintagecottage.com.

Q: I just have found out in the last year or so that I enjoy trying to make stuff, lol!

A: Haha! It's never too late and you are in the right spot 'cause me too! Feel free to email me at the email above to share any projects you've made, I'd love to see them!

Q: I liked the old formatting of your blog better than this new one.

A: I'm sorry, I do understand. But as technology changes and I learn more about blogging and updating my blog, things will change. I have some more changes coming up soon so I hope you'll stick with me. If you are having specific trouble with anything please let me know... if you are having trouble it's likely that someone else is too!

When I asked what you'd like to do if we could hang out for a day, someone said Mudlarking - I totally had to look this up, I had never heard of it! I think I've actually done it before... when I was 13 my cousins and I went to stay with my grandparents in Alaska for a month (my grandpa worked on the fishing docks). While we were there, they had what's called a minus tide where the tide goes waaay back and drags up things from the bottom of the ocean. We had so much fun running out each time the tide went back and picking up antique bottles, dishes, etc. They were all covered with barnacles but it was so much fun and I'll never forget it. I'd love to do it again, it's something I do pretty much anywhere I go anyway... I'm always looking down to see what I can find!

And someone said make dollhouse minis. I think I know who you are 😉 and I also think I know that you've seen all my dollhouse posts... I promise I'll have more soon!! I'd love to sit down and make minis together!

That's it for now! I hope that you enjoyed this and learned something. If you have any more questions, please ask!

And here is my question for you!! What would you think of a post (or a series) where I did little short videos and actually went through the stuff in my craft studio... like a show and tell... I could go through a small section each time and just talk about what's there, where I got it, what I'd use it for, etc.
